How does it work?
Web Style Stats is an easy to install performance tracking tool that gives highly actionable data on any marketing campaign you have set up. Specifically, Web Style Stats is designed to track and report the number of catalog requests, e-newsletter signups, and orders for any internet marketing campaign you execute, including email newsletters you send, online advertising you buy, partnership arrangements you negotiate, and pay-per-click programs you run. For those who run pay-per-click programs, there are features that make tracking the return on your investment for each keyword easy. This is the information you need to run a profitable PPC campaign and to optimize your campaigns over time.
The code is easy to install. You can get click-through, catalog signup and newsletter signup data by putting a few lines of code on some web pages. To get information on e-commerce sales you must paste a few lines of code and pass the information about the order. This is typically achieved by pasting the code on an order confirmation page that has access to the relevant values by the use of Javascript.
Web Style Stats retrieves data as follows:
- On a landing page:
It looks at the click-through URL to see if the visitor should be tracked (i.e., if there is a source parameter in the URL) and, if so, it checks to see if the visitor is already in our database. If not, it store him. - On a every website page:
It looks to see if the user is already in our database and, if so, attributes the visit to the proper visitor. - On a conversion page:
It looks to see if the user is already in our database and, if so, attributes the action (catalog, e-newsletter, order) to the proper campaign and keyword.
Web Style Stats only works for campaigns that have certain parameters in the click-through URL. To be complete, it needs to be installed on every landing page for each marketing campaign.
The basic requirements for the use of our technology are:
- You must be able to add code to all your webpages (it will be easier if you have a header and footer pages separately).
- To get reporting on the sales generated you must be able to write those order values to our code snippet after the order has been made. This is usually very easy to do, but it does require a level of access to your shopping cart that some websites do not have.
If you have problems installing the code, we can help. We provide integration services. We charge $75/hr for this service.
